The Usborne mission statement caught me by surprise..."The future of our world depends on the education of our children. UBAH delivers educational excellence one book at a time. We provide economic opportunity while fostering strong family values. We touch the lives of children for a lifetime."
As an educator, I read this and knew it was the right company for me! I taught 5th grade for four years before having my son. When he was born I felt my purpose change, and I wanted to be at home everyday to help guide him on his path we call life. Obviously it put a strain on our family financially when I decided to become a stay-at-home mom. That is where Usborne entered the picture.
I was reading my son our book That's Not my Lion one day in the car, and I thought to myself, "Hey, I could definately sell children's books." The next day I googled Usborne books to try to find a website, and I signed up right then and there. I didn't even purchase the small starter kit but the base kit because I just knew this was going to be a big commitment, and I was in it for the long haul. My schedule filled up quickly and before I knew it I was making a quick and easy profit!
I've tried selling other products in the past, and I'm not exaggerating when I say that Usborne books sell themselves. Naturally, I shared my excitement for the books and it was contagious. I've only been in the business for less than a year and I already have faithful customers. In fact, I signed up in August of 2007 and by that Christmas I had already made enough profit to pay for all our Christmas presents! It was awesome!
Usborne has eased the strain financially on our family, but most importantly at the end of the day I feel like I've made a difference in the lives of children. I've always been passionate about education, and Usborne allows me to still be active in the lives of children while staying at home with my own. What more could you want from a business opportunity?
